Default DAMMIT! shifter broke

So I was wheeling, and BAM, my shifter broke, sheared the threads right off and the handle came off in my hand

I cannot believe it.

Seriously this thing is pissing me off.

So what Im thinking to do is drill down the shifter, and tapping it and putting a stud in there.

I have no idea I was going down into 2nd and pow the shifter ball came off in my hand., So this morning I drilled it out, and I am going to get teh 3/8-16 tap so I can put a stud in there and put the ball back on

So I drilled it with a 5/16th bit, I drilled about an inch down

I tapped it with the original 3/8-16

Put in a slightly longer stud 3"

I put a stainless steel spacer in there to take up the slack and cover up the threads,

Finally put a shifter ball on there, this is the Mr Gasket Classic black

I think this was your XJ's way of saying she wanted something new for the shifter. Kinda like how a girlfriend can't just have one pair of ear rings forever.
