Default daily driver is dying

took my 95 xj muddin in some deep stuff. i dont have a snorkel and i think it may have been too deep for my jeep. i didnt have any problems till half way home from trailin. it was fine at first but bout twenty mins into the ride it started jumpin in and out of overdrive and its gotten worse by the hour. day and a half later now and its studdering stalling and idling at 2k, it was holding first gear to 4k under 30mph. its so bad im scared to drive it. check engine light came on this mornin and the only idea i have is maybe i got water in the intake. please help this is my daily driver and i love this truck! any advice would help

man oh man if you drown em you got too redo all your fluids. if the tranny went under pull pan and filter and flush all fluid out. right off, axles fliud change if any water got mixed in,oil and filter change, pull plugs turn over too expell any exess water . Tc case drain and fill. dont drive till all is checked and change ,check air filter too.regrease it too. this is a main part of wheeling its cheaper too redo all this everytime you sink the ship. Granted this wont happen all the time hopefully good luck keep me posted.

Why would you do that to your daily driver?

Because some people like to have fun without the privilege of owning multiple vehicles.

That wasn't my point. My point was if your depend on your Jeep to take to work on Monday would you take it through a deep water crossing (unprepared) on Sunday? If you answered yes, then you are dumb. My MJ was my daily driver for a long time. If you are wheeling your DD you need to be prepared for the type of wheeling you plan on doing, and avoid doing anything that could be disasterous to your rig, i.e. deep mud, water crossings.

I am sorry if I came across as a D!ck but, I was just answering the question he asked. Sure it may result in some inconveniences when things break, but oh well, life is short.

Glad you got it fixed!

It's all good if you beat on your daily driver I think, just so long as your willing to fix it, which you did!
