Daily Driver on 1 Tons?
Im starting to put together things for my lift. I want to swap the axles, ideally I want d60 front 14 bolt rear, but this is my daily driver. I know that the width of these axles will stick the tires pretty far outside of the fenders and I dont want to cut the axles down. I thought about building some 44s but if im gunna dump a bunch of money into axles, I dont want to have to worry about breaking them with 37s or 35s
So my question is, does anyone drive their Cherokee daily that have 1 tons under them? How do you deal with the law and the tire coverage? I dont want to have to put some ridiculous fender flares on it.
Thanks

Unless you have a dedicated rock crawler, those axles are way too heavy for a light unibody XJ. A 14 Bolt is cheap, no denying that. But they are a boat anchor and the center pumpkin hangs down far enough that you will high center on everything taller than your driveway unless you are running 42s or larger. A D44 with 35 spline chrome molys are far more practical for an XJ. If you are going to run full width axles, get the Ford 9" and front D44. That 9" is much easier to work with and with 35 spline axles is stronger than a 14 Bolt. A D44 built is much more practical than a D60 in an XJ. There is just no room to stuff that big diff up into the frame area. You have to run the bump stops down about a mile so it wont take out your oil pan and frame.
