i bought the destination ats because i put them on a vote against the bfg ats. and i got about 50/50 votes, but i'm glad i went with the destinations. not only they wear slower than bfgs, but they also ride quieter. i have HEARD that they duratracks wear a bit faster
but the destinations are one of the heaviest at tires out there

My experience with Goodyear tires is that they generally suck.
I'd get the Firestone's in a second of that pair. Although, If I were buying them I'd find a Michelin that worked and buy it instead of either of them. Like the LTX A/T 2. Barely any more cost and it will get twice the life of either of the other two, I'd wager.

I've run with guys with both and the goodyears are a better tire off pavement they do well in mud rocks and sand the firestones are good but don't seem to grip as well and they tend to pack more with mud.
on road the firstones are a great tire. more or less the best AT on the street for wet and dry handling plus they are good in the snow and not bad on ice.
really a 50/50 choice. I voted goodyear because they work better on the trails from what I've seen.

I was looking at just the tire prices. I mount and balance my own tires, so there's no installation. (I suppose $160 difference is a bit more than barely.)

I love my DuraTrac's... they have been the best tire I have EVER owned and used on a rig.
