Ok, my heep needs tires bad. I say goodyear duratracs. He says firestone destination a/t. We are splitting the cost of them.
I live in az but moving to kanas in july for school. So snow will be a factor. While im in az I enjoy rocks and sand. While in kanas ill be in the mud. Its a dd/weekend warrior on a 3" front lift and 2" back.
Which would you pick? Post in the poll
And why? Post in the thread

I like the Duratracs. They look like a good all around tire.

I chose the destinations. If your dad has to help pay for them get the cheapest tire he's willing to pay for.

If you really want the duratracks, pay for them yourself.

The price factor doesnt really come into effect in this case

What size tire?

Lets assume for the moment 235/75/R15 at 129 dollars apiece, do YOU have personally, without your dads help, 519 dollars plus mounting and balancing?

figure 625 total.

do YOU have that much money to buy tires?

If the answer is no, then cost does come into the factor, because you need your dads help to buy them.

Edit: this is only for 4 tires, do you need the spare? if so 700 to 725...

I chose Firestone, because that's what I have on my stock XJ right now and I love them. Never been stuck in anything, snow included. I don't do a lot of mud or sand, but the light stuff I've been in I haven't had a problem with.

I need the spare. And yes thats the size. We have connections at the local discount tire so the total cost
for the duratracs: 550 mounted
For the firestones: 500. He is going to pay 250 and I have to pay the difference. That is why cost isn't a big factor

wait, your running stock tires on a 3 inch lift?

The destinations are going to be a longer lasting tire for you, go with those till you're out of school.

Yes, I may go with 30s or 31s but the current plan is 235

go with the duratracs, i work for a tire company and as far as all terrains go we sell alot more duratracs and bfg a/t than anything else. but whatever you do dont sipe them if you go anywhere near rocks, you will completely distroy your tires the first time they slip and start to spin. just go with the duratracs you wont regret it.

I have Duratracs, and I can verify that they are beasts in the snow. Good all year tire too, not too loud, but great in most situations. Plus they look really good and have a nice aggressive looking tread.

edit: if you are putting them on 15's your only options are 235/75/15 and 31x10.5x15 unfortunately they don't come in a 30. They do also have 33x12.5.15 though

i got the firestone ats and i love them. never had experience with duratracks. but they look more aggressive than my firestones. and those grabbers actually LOOK better than both of them. i can't vote on your poll, because i can't tell which ones are better. but i CAN tell you that my firestones have made it through mud and snow just as good, if not better than my bfg ats on my truck.
