Default D44 Rear Prices?

Ok so I went to a few JY around southern NM area (where I live) and a complete rear axle used is running $400, now it wouldn't be too bad but I plan on re-gearing and what not both axles. So my question is, is that a good price for a jy rear?

thats way too high. I paid $300 for one from a guy who pulled it from a jy, and it had a limited slip in it. He probably only paid $150 for it and made a nice profit. $300 is about what they are worth, but if you can find one at a jy you can get them cheaper. They are rare though, and if your jy manager knows what it is that could be the reason for the high price.

my jy wants 225 for a complete rear end with disc brakes, less if it has drums
the auto dismantler which pulls it for you wants 400 for a 8.8 with disc brakes.

400 and you have to pull it yourself id tell em things i cant say on here

Unless the Dana 44 has the gears you want, and a locker it isn't worth 400.00.
If it had 4.56 - 4.88s and a Detroit locker or True Trac it would probably be worth the 400.00 dollars, maybe even 500.
