I'd say he cut a hole & put sub-woofer porthole in place. It would render your center console useless unless you compartmentalize the areas below so nothing you store interferes with the beverage you put in place. Maybe you could buy two portholes so you can have the other facing the opposite way & screw the flared end of it down in the bottom of the console. Shorten it as needed. The top port is probably cut just after the other side of the lid.
