Dana 30 front from a 98 grand cherokee - bigger u-joints 3.73 gears
I got this to go with my 8.8 I'm putting in.
Would this Dana 30 still be HP reverse cut? Is there a way to tell by looking? I'm totally freaking I got the wrong one.

It's pretty easy to tell if you have a HP D30. Set the axle up like it would be sitting in the Jeep. I.E. Flat coil springpads on top. Is the snout or pinion part of your diff even with the top or bottom of your diff.? And as for it being reverse cut. If it is a HP front axle diff, It will be reverse cut...has to be.

its only about 15% or so (read that somewhere) weaker than a high pinion. it will fit no problem. everything else is the same, mounts, etc, and will bolt up.
2000 and 2001 XJ's come with LP housings up front, older XJ's come with High pinions. They are interchangeable. You just gain a little bit of strength with a HP.
