Default The cost of a key fob

Hi all, I just recebtly bought my first cherokee wj on a 1999 and the alarm key fob did not work. So, I went down to my main dealer to buy 2 replacement fobs.

The helpful parts guy said there is a primary and secondare fob. I asked what the differance was and he said one is black and the other is grey, also depending what one you use the seat will move automatically to that keys pre set position.
I said ok lets order one of each.

He went away and came back a few seconds later ready to do the invoice but had a puzzeled look on his face. He said "ok, the primary key is £46 plus vat and the secondary key will be £143 plus vat" ........... What!

"Why so expensive" I asked he looked at me and said "I honestly have no idea" the only differance would be the colour of the key and the seat would move. So I said "I'll have two primary keys then please"

How about that for a messed up day at jeep.
Paul
