Cooper S/T Maxx or Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs? 33x12.50 R15
#16
If you wheel on rocks at all I wouldn't go with the duratracs. Their sidewall is so weak. I've already blown 3 of them in like 6 months of having them. And I don't even wheel that hard. Don't get me wrong they're awesome in mud/snow/ on road and are very quiet. But if you're gonna be on rocks it's just something to think about.

The 315x75x16 durratracs that I have ran (basically35s) have 10ply sidewalls. I have no idea why they went with the weaker 2ply sidewalls on the smaller sizes... the 35s hold up great.

Just put the st maxxs on yesterday.
So far I love these tires. They do great on pavement. Very quite for an aggressive tire. Seems to handle great. They do seem really heavy so I'm keeping an eye on my mpg to see how it will be affected. I haven't been off road with them yet so I will post back once I do and give a report.

Discount Tire will also give a $10/tire discount if you tell them you're on a Jeep forum. They're huge Jeep nuts. Also free shipping, no tax, and usually some good mail-in rebates.

Thanks to everyone for all their input and advice, I still haven't gotten around to getting tires yet, just been too busy with college. And as of right now southwest pa is in a deep freeze so it's tough to get out and finish puttin a couple parts on so it's ready to get aligned after I get the new tires.

Awesome, be sure to keep us updated on how they do mpg wise and overall! They do look like a pretty good tire, the tread pattern looks good too. I am Alittle worried about the sidewall on the Duratracs since Im used to the Kevlar sidewalls on my mtr's so we'll see. What sidewall does the copper st maxx have?

I will swear by the MAXX. Sure its a 10ply, but it has a good sidewall, I run then at 15 and 17 when in the mountains, and can still drive 20 miles of pavement home. Here is a couple Tire shots from Moab. Fronts running 17 psi, rears running 15 psi in these photos. these are 265/75/16 32" It really is not that rough riding for a 10 ply. I did not notice any ride difference between my 6 ply Bfg's and these 10 plys. They are killer in snow and Icy roads as well. Here in Wyoming, we get snow 9 months of the year, so a good mix of summer and winter is very important to me, and i feel safe with these tires.
