Default Coolant leak near drivers side headlight? Help!

Help!!! I have a 93 Jeep Cherokee. There is some kind of leak coming from under the drivers side headlight area. The leak appears to be pure water. It has been around freezing and so there were some icicles near that area but seems to be more water coming out than just icicles melting, not to mention there must be a leak somewhere for the icicles to form in the first place. It starts up fine and runs fine. Coolant level was low so I added antifreeze. Only had it about 6 months so I'm just worried the guy that had it before me just had water in there and no antifreeze and I want to make sure the engine block or radiator didnt freeze up and crack. Not sure what to do or what is near that area that would leak, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No chance it's washer fluid is it? or water instead of washer fluid in the washer bottle?

The washer fluid tank is on the opposite side of the engine compartment on passenger side. The leak is coming from the drivers side headlight area. Unless the washer fluid has a hose that goes up that way? Wish it was that easy :-)

I looked around that area on my '93 Laredo and couldn't find anything that could possibly leak water. Since you said it was low on coolant and you didn't know if it had anti-freeze in it, I would check that out. If your coolant is not that pretty flourescent green color in the radiator and/or overflow tank, you probably need to flush 'n fill. If it does look clear, then maybe your radiator or one of the hoses are leaking and squirting towards the headlight. The bottom hose IS pretty much below the headlight. Keep us posted

Dear Chick,
I am the tech manager at Prestone Antifreeze. You should have the Jeep's coolant checked right away. You can buy a inexpensive hydrometer tester at any auto parts store. If it doesnt have freeze protection, you should drain, flush and refill with Coolant right away. If you need instructions, email me and I can send them to you.
