I swapped out my 2wd AW4 out of my '93 XJ for a '96 4x4 AW4 and put a SYE on the 231 while I was at it. Ever since then, the speedo, tach and OD don't work. Anybody have any idea what the problem is? Transmission shifts fine, except for OD. It won't kick in. It did once or twice, but not since then.

93 is an OBD1
96 is OBD2

May be a dumb question but did you hook up the speedo cable?

There are two kinds of speedometer gears: short ones and long ones. Your year of Jeep just happens to be a cut-off point. Make sure you're running the correct length:

Also, make sure you've seated it properly and not just jammed it into the hole.

See my previous post.
The OP put a transmision from and OBDII rig into an OBDI vehichle.

The speedometer gear isn't the problem.

He has to convert the tranny over to work with his OBDI PCM and TCU.

Until that's done, it ain't going to work right.

What all do you have to do to convert a OBDll to a OBDl?

You need to use the original harness and TCU. Make sure compare the schematics to ensure the wiring is correct.
