I ran a daily newspaper route for 4.5 years. I had a good spare but I could pull a nail or rock out of the tire (most times), plug it and reinflate the tire faster than I could change to the spare. Those little 12-volt compressors are usually slow. I carry an inverter and a smaller 110-volt compresser. I have tried several brands of plugs and can't really tell a difference except for size. I also carry a can of Slime (fix-a-flat) and usually put than in after the tire is plugged. If you don't use your A/C, you could turn it into an OBA set up. I have plans for that later on my rig.

I've been lookin' into OBA for a while. There's always Viair but pricey. There is someone, maybe a vender that sells a compresser, tank, hoses, and everything for a really good price. I can't remember the company though & nothing comes up when I google OBA. Hopefully someone can help with the company name & web site....
IMO, i wouldn't change the AC pump to an OBA compresser. AC is worth its self in gold on those hot & humid summer days....

I work out in the woods and I grew up w/o A/C. I don't plan on fixing mine. Yes, the is a writeup on here for OBA, just search for it. I'm on my phone right before a Boy Scout meeting so I can't look it up.

Years later I took the tire off the aluminum wheel. The slime was eating into the aluminum. Took alot of sanding to save the wheel.
I have a 2000 watt inverter, and a small pancake air compressor in my XJ.
