Hey guys,
A family friend brought up a good question while we were discussing lifting my jeep.
He said to make sure that your insurance company will cover your vehicle once it's lifted so that IF I get in an accident, they don't deny payment because I modified the vehicle.
Anyone ever have any issues with this? I have state farm and live in illinois.

I was never told anything. When mine was stolen I told them I had a lift and all the good stuff. I was even told I could insure all the parts I put on it.(if I wanted it to go up)

Speaking of insurance, I'm curious, how are you guys (and gals) insuring your vehicles? Mine has bare minimums on it, and it's nice to only pay $20 a month, but once I start really modding it I think I'll want to increase coverage. I'm just worried if something happens they'll look at it and go, "Oh, it's a '93 2wd, here's $500" even though I'm converting it to a 4wd.

Don't keep it a secret now ...
When I was insured with NJ Manufacturers they had pictures taken of my vehicle prior to insuring it. It was already lifted (but lower) and they had no issues. It was also my DD so I had full coverage.
