hi all, Sorry to bother you I tried a search and can't seem to find anything.
what is the difference between Command-trac and Trac-lock?
do either of them truly "lock" it up? which one is better?

Command trac is jeep's name for the four wheel drive system with the 231 t-case. Trac-loc is a limited slip differential. For instance my xj has both.

Is that a question?

If so, the NP207 was found in 84-86 XJ's and the 87 YJ.

Car talk makes for an even longer amounts of conversation! He's a cool guy, just talks a hell of a lot.

I'm up the Rockford area.

Yep, 207 and the rocket turd.

If this was the case a 207/208/228/231/242 etc. would be stronger than a 205. The 207 isn't the worst and nowhere near the best case in the world. I wouldn't say it's the beefiest t/c, but it's not going to break if you look at it funny. The "stick in the can" driveshaft is also a PITA. I'm assembling a d/c setup for mine since it started clicking. Oh and the aftermarket sucks for it. On the plus, it's one of the easiest cases to rebuild.
