Default Cold Air Intake ?

So I put together a CAI using Spectre filter and tubing... But there is not heat shield, so I went the cheap way and put aluminum tape on an old license plate and put it in between the intake and the radiator, put another license plate on the other side to keep water out and put electrical tape in all the holes so water can't touch it and to top it off i used my old Spectre panel filter under the CAI so it has something to rest on... I spent $50 total on the intake, don't feel like the gains of a CAI on the 4.0 is worth $250-300... Noticed much improved throttle response and mid-top end pull. Average mpg jumped from 14.8 to 15.1 mpg, which is about what i expected.

I got an ebay one $29 absolutely love it. Def noticable throttle responce and sounds deep and around 2500rpm whistles like a turbo lol ive had like 6 people ask me if it had a turbo in it. One of my fav mods so far. Im pretty sure my mpg went up a little too

Aim the top of the snorkel towards the windshield when you go in the mud. The left front tire is like a shovel for your snorkel. We discovered this on my buddy's YJ after our last mud bog. Mud made it though all of that tubing under wide open throttle and packed his air filter solid. Just a thought.

But I'd like to see pics of the license plate cold air intake. Sounds fancy.

I used two.... I taped all the holes under it to help keep water out and the plate behind it kept all the water out during a storm today....
