Default Cobra CB Radio Trouble

Not sure if this is the right section for this but it looked like the best to me so here it goes.

I have a Cobra 75WX ST remote mount CB. The one with the all the controls in the mic. I had it installed in my last project for all of about 6 months and it worked fine. I took it out and set it on the workbench when I sold that one.

Here's the problem. When I tried to install it in the XJ it wouldn't turn on. I replaced all of the fuses and checked all the wire connections. I even went so far as to hold the wires on the battery terminals but it's no good. It just won't turn on.

I went back to old my old faithful Cobra that is almost as old as me for now (and sadly I like it better) but I would like to get this one working if nothing else so I can sell it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks all.

Is the antennae connected to unit and grounded? On some CB's, I believe it needs to be connected and grounded for unit to turn on.

It's been a few months since I messed with and I couldn't remember if I had tried this or not. I hooked it up with the antenna and still had nothing.

My neighbor who used to do car stereos saw me with the hood up and came over. We tested the circuit and figured out the fuse holder had gone bad. He had a new one that uses a blade style fuse. Hooked it up and it fired up.

I must have suspected this when I was working on it before because there's a new in the package inline fuse holder laying in the box with the rest of the parts. Honestly I had worked on it all day and just gave up and plugged the old one into the cigarette lighter and never looked back.

Didn't need the antenna hooked up on this one either but I appreciate the idea. Thank you.
