what do you mean just? I put it on about 7 months ago and its great. I built a drip pan since I live in oregon and it sits above my distributor. when I was working in Boise this summer, I had the pan off, and at stop signs you could just see the heat waves pour out.

my plan is to put a scoop on the otherside above my headers. My plan is that driving down the highway, air will be scooped in down over the headers and vent out the vent and under engine.

the vent basically vents. if youre idiling, your engine heat has nowhere to go, it just gets stuck up under the hood, and if youre driving, there is just cold air swept on the underside of the engine compt.

with a vent, when you idle, the hot air rises up through the vent thereby pulling cool air up from under the engine by negative vaccum pressure (just an example I know someone is going to call me out of the vaccum pressure stuff). and when youre driving with a vent, your fly wheel fan is running at high RPM forcing air back into your engine compt. the vent then vents

Default Hood Vent Pics

Pics of Hood Vents. 84-86 Chrysler New Yorker, Lebaron, Dodge 600. Only the turbo models.
There was also a plymouth of the same era, but it only had ONE vent. On the right side. Go figure.
Remember, measure TWICE. Cut ONCE.

My 94 with New Yorker vents, I made some covers for the inside with some plastic sheeting to keep the rain out in the winter. Very pleased with them.
