i recently purchased a chrome polished air intake. i am planning on replace the filter with a k&n filter and im planning on painting the aluminum black instead of chrome. i was just wondering what size filter should i use and how i can make a heat shield?

use the bottom half of your air box you can fit some flashing or thin tin inside the box and make the bottom half of the box taller and use some rubber edging for the top so it sits flush with your hood

honestly i found the easiest way is to chop up the top half of your airbox so that the filter sits down inside the box and the left portion of the top half of you lid blocks the heat its quick and easy to do all you need is a hacksaw or a jigsaw then the porten that left can be screwed into the botom half of the box ewith a self tapping screw if youde like i could send you pictures of mine just PM me...john
