Around San Francisco, lifted cherokees are probably a good buy. From what I can tell--because they're always spotless, guys around here only lift them to make it easier to wash the rocker panels.

The old pre-97 XJ's seem to be fading away around here, I'd guess 9 out of 10 Cherokee's I see on the road are the 97+

Pretty soon I'll be the only one driving one here cause I'm not getting rid of it.

I'm not gonna lie, I look forward to the day when my XJ is so old it starts to turn heads.

You know how you "look" when you see an old vehicle that's still on the road, even if it's a vehicle you wouldn't haven even noticed years ago?

The other day I saw a 70's station wagon at a stop light...a STATION WAGON and it was in great condition, I basically stared at it till the light turned green just because I haven't seen one in so long.

I agree. Went wheelin this weekend. four 97+ XJ's and my 95. I love the pre 97s myself. Any XJ I buy from now on, unless its a killer deal, will be a pre 97.

Me too. That's why I plan on holding onto mine. Like everytime I see an old lifted Blazer or Bronco I just stare at it in appreciation.
