The Cherokee's 4.0 going out in a blaze of glory
So I'm going to be scrapping my rusted out parts Cherokee soon. I already sold the front axle, header panel, fans, belts, hoses, and I thought it would be cool to start it up and run it WOT With no Oil and Coolant and bet on how long till it blows. So my question is how long do you think it will last?
143k Miles and PO admitted to never changing the oil since he purchased it new and trust me i believe him it was char black goop but ran great lol.

Sell it to someone to use as a builder while they're still driving around with their old motor. We already lost 24,000 Cherokees to Cash for clunkers.

Yes I would never have thought that were so many suckers out there who sold good cars on that deal for what little they received for them. Most came from CA. and places like that, Nuff Said!

I almost cried when I saw them crush that cherry-condition Mercedes turbodiesel...
Hot Rod Magazine had a list of "hot rods" scrapped for the program... There were tons of Camaros, Mustangs, Firebirds, Trans Ams, and even one GNX...
Also, some good links here:

http://jalopnik.com/5369762/the-full...nkers-trade+in
Apparently a '97 Aston Martin and a '97 Bentley were scrapped, too... And the GNX.
Crazy.
Crying shame.
I don't understand how someone could do that.
Then again... I'm biased, because I probably wouldn't trade my XJ for a new car anyway, even if it was a straight-up trade. There's something about the XJ that's not around in today's cars...
Also, I think the 4.0 would make it at least 15 minutes dry.

Don't blow it up. If you want to know how long it WOULD last with a crankcase of sodium silicate, I'll relay to you what my friends at dealerships told me about destroying the engines.
NOTHING lasted as long as the 4.0. 15 minutes unlike most others that were 5 or less minutes.

This has inspired me to extend my oil change intervals, I always knew the 3-5k change schedule was just lies from Big Oil and Jiffy Lube, 10k intervals here I come!
