Hello gang, hope this is the right section for this question....last year I helped a friend mod his Cherokee into the Syclone 4.3L Turbo, he used all the Chevy stuff, motor, tranny, differentials and the ECU with the wiring, he found a good donor.
The way I will like a Cherokee's version of the Syclone is using all the Cherokee's parts, lower the suspension, a turbo setup with a good Engine Management System with the only difference without the front differential. Any ideas on how will you make this setup to have a Cherokee's version of the Syclone/Typhone?
Thanks in advance TP.

The syclone/typhoon was awd so really all you would need to do is keep it locked in 4hi for the same effect. Unfortunately this is hard on transfer cases and front end components so maybe find a way to put the awd drivetrain into the jeep?

Meh. You can beat the Syclone's numbers with a Jeep stroker. If I had a Syclone to use as a donor, I'd just build the Syclone and leave the Jeep's motor in the Jeep.
I want to know you used a chevy ifs on a jeep with a solid axle ?Honestly i could find a 98 grand chreokee limited 5.9 which factory is 245hp and 345 foot pounds,A bigger cam new heads and maybe a supercharger and eat almost anything on the road for not that much money.

AndrewMP6, that is an excellent idea but I'll use it as plan B, I prefer to use the 4.0L HO Turbocharged it with good engine management.........yes my friend used the chevy front differential, he fabricated a front small K member look a like, the diff is hold with this chassis and the same chassis hold upper and lower control arms from the chevy, he knows how to fabricate chassis mods, he did a lot of bridge for slam to the floor mini trucks, rear triangulate suspension with air bags............my opinion is that was a lot of work nd tinkering just to have a fast turbo SUV. I am sure I can make his Turbo Chevrokee see my Cherokee's tail lights using the factory 4.0L HO change maybe the gear ratio of the rear diff and I don't need a front diff, the only AWD I know is fast and capable of draging everyone down is the Eclipse/Talon 1st generation.
How many inches should I lower the front and rear suspension?

For what the turbo stuff cost you can swap a ls v8 4l60e and a better t case.A lq4 6.0 with bolt ons is north of 400hp all motor and pump gas range. As far as lowering a 4x4 stock is about as low as you can get one with out a ton of cutting and modding parts.Awd and fast don't mix to me,The first 60 feet its useable past that its just extra weight and power stealing. The fastest cars on this planet are rwd aka indy car and top fuel for a reason.

My Cherokee is not 4x4, mine is 2WD, I can upload photos of my friend's Chevrokee, I will ask him to send me the photos. Anyway this post is not about my friend's Jeep, is about all of your ideas if you were challenged to make a Cherokee 2WD into asphalt drag racing, into making a Cherokee a version of the S10/Blazer Typhoon/Syclone.......using the inline.

If I was going to do that, I would probably lower it. Front is easy, cut a coil out. But rear is harder and would need a bastard pack to increase the arch of the spring a little and make it stiffer and move the axle to the top of the spring. Stiffer 50/50 shocks for all around performance unless you want drag specific shocks. However those are not what you would want for AWD launch. That what you are looking for?

The other thing bothering me is the tranny, there is enough info on the web to use the Cherokee's tranny and make it a full manual shifts since it uses the same tranny found in the Yota Supra, the other option I am still finding out if it is true, was told to use a Ford 5 speed automatic with no lock up found on explorer a 55R or some like that. The guy who told me this he claims I just need to swap the bellhousing of my aw tranny do some minor metal removing and install on the Explorer's tranny......I have no clue if this is true.......but I sure want Automatic tranny, I don't want to change from converter to pressure plate.
Thanks 4.3L XJ your ideas are aimed what I want to do.

It depending where the manufacturers install that part, it can lower or the opposite. I just took this photo and bad news for me, on Cherokee if I make that part longer it will lift the suspension, on a Mazda B2500 it will lower the suspension......OK for lowering rear suspension and back to square1.....😤
