Full body cage? Or cage the engine? You'll need external cage and support structure through the cab if your really gunu do it.

Do you have points to tie the cage into? Sliders and bumpers? There are plenty of people here and on other forums that habe built cages. Some are super nice, some are pretty crappy. Look at hubfab xj. His is pretty sweet. Also remember the more times you triangulate the cage the stronger itll be

you really need to have some internal support that ties into the frame. you're better off building a hybrid internal cage with roof sliders than adding a bunch of dead weight to the body that will snag on rocks and crush like a tin can in a rollover

its mainly for looks and its a mud jeep so im not going to be doing any crawling at all and the trails i ride on there is a very slim chance from rolling its just to get from one big hole to the next i dont think im going to roll if someone can get down the same trail on72in tractor tires

Just my 2 cents, but why spend the money on a cage that doesn't protect anything? I'm sure that for a minimal amount more you could get the extra tube to do it right.

a roll cage that is just for looks. To put it nicely, that is one of the silliest things I've read on this forum in awhile. but hey at least you can save some money and make it out of PVC or conduit

I like how advise is getting tossed out by guys who haven't done this themselves.

That's why I stuck to asking why, since all of my cage experience was tacking in a few pieces in a ministock car.

Its just funny to me.

Someone said the exterior cage is useless unless an interior cage is done.

Guess that means since the subframe is on the outside of the body its useless.

Its really all in the material used and the tie in points you make/use.

Is a hybrid interior/exterior cage better? Probably. But not mandatory.
