Cherokee 96 to 99 which year was the best.
Hi, everyone I stumbled on this website a month ago while I was looking for a truck. I'm not a first timer with Jeep i use to have a 1998 Grand Cherokee that i put 285,533k before I finally killed it. I had a 1987 Wrangler YJ which I didnt care for as much as my cherokee... Anyways to the point. This will be my first Cherokee Sport
I Have been looking for roughly around 1996-1999 I heard that those were Cherokees best years.. But I want to know what (THE) best one made in that time frame.
Was the 2000's & 2001's a let down?
I'm from CT, I am currently ending my first tour of Iraq within a month and a few weeks. I need to know what would be the best cherokee to get when I go home for Xmas leave. Anyone from CT, MA, RI? anyone know a dealership they trust? or anyone selling one.
Jeep forever<3

Year: 1997
Model: Cherokee
Engine: 4.0, comp cam, 99 intake, apn header, neon injectors, Thunderbolt 2.5" High Flow Cat
97 was the year out of those. 98 they switched the plugs on the sensors (and only the plugs so they could charge twice as much), and 99 was complying to newer, stricter emissions laws. 96 was also a great year, though the upgraded u joints and 29 spline 8.25 didn't come out until 97 I believe, along with factory cup holders. personally the older years are awesome too... rear ends and ujoints can always be swapped out.
