I don't like the rally lights.

Looks like it's never left the pavement. It's so clean and paint doesn't appear to have any real scratches.

And what is that red thing hanging from the headlight switch?

Just another pavement pounder to me. Like the light setup on the rack though.

poser or not it actually looks pretty nice & aggressive. definitely nicer than my ride. haha

i'm not too keen on the euro tail lights & guard, stickers, long antenna, lights & snorkel.

If this is the guy I'm thinking of, there was a similar thread a while ago, and the actual owner got on and got all butt hurt and defensive. he was really ticked off and offended it seemed, haha. He was all trying to justify the amount of money he had spent and saying it was a legit off road rig, that it could stand up to off roading and that he jsut takes pride in how it looks. It was pretty much a battle between him and all of CF.

post has been removed.

however, with a bit of toning down by getting rid of the decals, anti-wrap and blocks, euro crap, installing bigger axles, etc. this could be a worthy trail rig otherwise.

i just think it never leaves the NY pavement.

haha, that's what I thought, it was getting pretty ugly.

I agree, it is salvagable, almost any jeep that doesn't have a cracked unibody can be saved or otherwise used.

But for that price, it's just not worth it, ever...

+1

All my cars are daily drivers. The supra gets the crap beat out of it on a daily basis, and the Jeep is always dirty.

It is, but the guy got really agressive and peoples feelings got hurt, it just got pretty ugly in the other thread (hence why it was closed and deleted). It was all pretty stupid I think.

to me this is forum is very friendly & fun. all the folks here are extremely knowledgeable especially when it comes to their XJ. it is only fair that the folks here give their opinion about an XJ that is selling way over the private market price. just as it fair for the sellers who are posting their XJ asking for an arm & a leg as their selling price.

honestly i would do the same thing as everyone here. if i saw an add for an XJ (regardless of all the upgrades) that is asking for more than $7k (which is pushing it in terms of price), i would definitely question it. now an add for an XJ with a selling price that is more than $10k - is definitely open season for dissecting & debate. unless that XJ had a corvette motor then yeah i would definitely consider the sellers price. but until then, it is fair game for good, healthy & fun conversation.

that being said, i should post my XJ on craigslist for $15k just so i can monitor & see what everyone here says about it!!! haha you guys rock!!!
