x2 on the aussie. have had aussie and ezlocker. the aussie has performed flawlessly and the detroit didn't work at all.

x3 on the Aussie! If you decide on that, Northridge 4x4 has them even cheaper than Aussie, and free shipping. And I think there is an online coupon for another % off.

It locks the differential to give 50/50 power split to both tires on the axle. Without a locker torque is directed to the wheel with the least traction.

....and so you have the wheel w/all the traction, and firmly planted, not moving. And then you have the wheel w/no traction, and/or up in the air, spinning like crazy.

yup all xjs stock had a dana 30. I don't think there is a difference in lockers between abs and non in the front, but i know there is in the d35.

Also if ur picking a locker I'd run it in the rear axle, cause a lot of people say that the front locked is skechy at best in mud & snow!!!

i've heard they are sketch in the snow, but ive been running one in my xj all year and i like it. I only drive the xj in the snow, if it doesn't snow i take the benz, and ive put more miles on my jeep then car this year in maine. I think it would be sketchier in the rear, but i guess it depends on how you drive.

definetly wants to go straight though, and lunch box lockers really really don't like it when you lock one tire up with the brakes and not the other...
