Remove the Transfer case and frot drive shaft, do what you need to do with the transmission....
Just know that the Jeep Gods will probably hunt you down.

Not entirely fair to insinuate that pton's the one that's wrong here.... I think the question still stands.

instead of the remarks why not help the guy. Not everyone that owns a Jeep is into the 4wd off road thing..
Its pretty simple to go to 2wd. Get a tranny with out the provisions for a transfer case. And a 2wd axle beam for the front since it's doe's not have control arms even a 2wd.
That should be about it. Other than might need a different rear drive shaft.

Also a thought. I'm sure you can find somebody with a 2wd Cherokee or Grand Cherokee that wants to convert to 4wd.
Swap your parts with them and everybody wins.
As long as the trannys are the same model.

thanks for the info, might call a few places, then head to the junk yard to see whats there...I dont need that extra weight up front if I'm 3 wheelin' and hoppin,I'm sure as hell aint goin' off-roading.. I took the front drive shaft out after doing a 3wheel,started squeaking real bad after taking that sharp turn gettin the wheel up on a rollin 3.. want to get rid of want im not goin' to use.....

Try the wanted section. Somebody in your area might want to swap their 2wd stuff for yours.
And yes it will knock a lot of weight off that's for sure.
Went through your pics.. It's interesting to see a jeep on 3 wheels in a different way.

I kinda wonder if it has the 249 full time t-case how removing that and the rest of what makes it essentially AWD with 4LO will effect it as trying to convert it to a 2wd only vehlicle.. I could see if it's got the 231 or 242 and the simplicity in thought of the conversion.
So a question, are there any other challenges to this for the OP that might not be had with the other 2 transfercases, given if he does have the 249?
