Yes the Cobra 19 is the best bang for your buck if you don't plan on using it other than on the trails from what I've read on a few forums that I'm a member of.

i had to take my cobra 19 back to walmart after one day of use... some of the guys from the forum were with me out on the trail and they could barely hear me 2 -3 vehicles back... it was $37, and a very big waste of money...
my local cb shop told me that the uniden's compact unit is the best in that size radios.

I just got the uniden 538w. I haven't installed it yet but is a little larger than the compact, has an swr meter and weather channels. Can't wait to get up and running

If you wheel in the NJ Pinelands you won't be too thrilled with the Li'l Will. I had one & I finally gave up on it. It worked well, but every time I passed under trees (which was all the time wheeling) I had to reach out onto the roof to keep it from getting swept off. Constantly. Got to be a pain. The magnet is strong, but it's no match for branches!

I now have a Firestik antenna - 4 or 5 ft. mounted on the rear bumper. Works well.
