4.3L XJ

The time is coming when I need to plan for the future. I am going to put in an overhead console, or I should say fab one up out of aluminum. I need to put in some switches, or I should say a lot of them. I was also planning ahead with a possible CB. The only time I would use it is on trails since I don't hear that well anyway and a lot of it sounds just like static to me. So I could put in a mini back from the switch area up front of it or a hand held. I like the idea of the hand held since in theory I could remove it and store it in the glove box when not in use. Anyone know how well they work?
