i run mine in the rear center, dont have enough cable to run it in the center, i have a pretty good signal though. most of the people only use theirs for wheeling, i just like listening to people talk lol

Sorry to thread jack, but for the rear tail light mount for say a 3' fiberglass antenna, how important is having a spring? Will not having one mess things up when the antenna hits stuff?

Magnetic base with a screw on/off antenna
Run it on the roof and it's done real good

id run a spring, otherwise if it gets caught on a tree or something you could break your antenna.
