Are you just using it on the trails and jeep-a-vanning? I'd just get the cheapo one from Walmart. Just make sure you get your antenna tuned.

I've got a cheap, small, Radio Shack CB. Its outlasted all the expensive, nice CBs I've ever had so far.

I've got a Cobra 29 LTD. Great CB but big. Its size isn't an issue in my 95, since there is no passenger air-bag, there is plenty of room below the glove box to mount it, but I imagine it could be a pain to find space for it on a 97+ XJ.

i'm a fan of the cobra 29, if you want smaller you can't go wrong with a cobra 19, but avoid the cobra 18 with weather.

I'll also vote for the Cobra 29. Mine has the NOAA weather channels in it, that is a large part of the reason I bought it. At the time, it was just about the cheapest that had them. I got this radio back when I was driving a truck cross country. This year (last Feb.), I've been running this radio for 20 years. It has only been in the shop one time for a peak and tune.
