Cant get it to stop squeaking???

Default Cant get it to stop squeaking???

i put a new sepentine belt on my 91 xj yesterday because it squeaked constantly and it was very annoying and the new belt didnt squeak when i first put it on but now it does????? any advice???? Thanks....

this may sound wierd but take a bar of soap and hold it to the belt while it is running. i have done this on a few vehicals and it has worked. it will also make it smell fresh

Don't put anything on the belt. It works by friction. Adding something will take that friction away. Are you sure you tightened the new belt enough? It could be loose and have glazed already. Could also be a bad pulley bearing
