I have 98 Classic that has Factory Tow Package.
I plan on installing a Smittybilt XRC Rear Bumper that has tow mount included. I currently have the XRC front bumper and dig it.
From the looks of it, it seems that I will surely need to remove the current Factory Tow Package as the new bumper will need the room. I may be wrong.
The Wiring Harness is built in to the Factory Tow Package.
I don't want to order the new beefy rear bumper until I can answer the following questions, and get some ideas on what you guys think I should do.
1. Do I need to remove the factory tow package?
If so....
2. How do I attach the Electrical Wiring Unit Harness to the new bumper?

Your input is greatly appreciated

Why would you want to keep two hitches?
From the looks of it you will definitely have to remove the hitch in order to install the bumper. The wires are removeable from the hitch in some way, I just don't know because I never had a hitch like that. Just remove the plug/ box and stick it behind the bumper. Should have plenty of room in that thing.

Yes the old hitch will have to be removed as the new bumper uses the same mounting holes for it, that is if you have a Class III hitch now all the holes will be used. But any old hitch still needs to be removed.
