Default can i get some input on a axle swap on my Xj?

Hello I'm looking to put some better axles under my 2001 Xj. I want axles that will easy fit under my jeep and would like to hear what kinda vehicle would be a good doner for the axles. I have D30 and D35 now would like to go with D44 or bigger. Thank you.

Nothing will be a direct swap that isn't already found in a Cherokee.

D44's are SWEET but really expensive to do properly to be worth half a crap IMO. and most of them are too wide. I've always like the 44/9 combo but don't think I'd ever run it

waggy 44 is low pinion and shafts aren't always easy to come by

1 tons are well.. 500lb monster axles

Toyota axles are a cool option if you want to figure out passenger drop and spend a couple bucks on longfields

it's a crap shot in my opinion. build a 30 and an 8.25/xj44 on 35's and just be happy

this.

pick your tire size and your wheeling style. 35s and you take it easy? built stock axles are more than adequate. 37s and drive by braille? you need tons.

Where should I post this at? Down the road tire size will be 35-38 as far as wheeling im not sure yet would just like to put better axles under it while I dont need them instead of needing them and not having them. What about D44 out of a 88 Yj? anyone know how hard that would be? Thanks guys

Fabrication is just that. Fabrication. Building something. Creating something from supplies. Bumpers, tube doors for example. There's stickies in the fab section you can read if you still have questions.

This.

If you really feel that you need 38's, I would build another platform vehicle.

A properly sorted out XJ on 35's is damn near unstoppable.

my $.02

search and read more. there is a BIG difference between a 35 and a 38. 35 is the max that should ever be put on a D30. with 38s youre in one tone territory

Not to mention YJ's were never offered with D44's. My 95 had a D44 but I swapped it in from an Early XJ
