Why would you want a black/yellow on an XJ? A classic car, yes, but not on a mid 80s Jeep.

Black /yellow plates were not used on new vehicles 15 years ago. Black /yellow plates have not been issued for about 40 years.

Its called the old plates look better, espcially the black ones. Im not a fan of the current white with cursive red lettering. The other plate options are a 911 tribute, some other crap, and a whales tale. I guess if your truck looks like a shark you dont need this.

i think it's cool that they're offering these retro plates.

here, we can buy and register year of manufactured plates, so for instance, i have a 49 ******, so i found an old set of 1949 original issue license plates, i'm gonna send them in to the dmv to have them approved, then i can register and sticker them for my flat fender.

up here, all cars before 1973 you had to buy a set of new plates every year, they have the year punched into the plate. they're very cool.

Well yeah. Why else do you think they dump that much salt on the road?

I've seen a number of old cars rolling around with these plates, they are definitely awesome. The year makes them a lot more interesting.
