bull bar vs brush guard
Ok, you experienced jeepers. I'm planning to build a front winch bumper. When I do, I will also want to add a bull bar or brush guard. Which is better or more versatile? The fabrication isn't a problem, I do that stuff daily. But I've never had experience in the bb/bg area.
I work with a camping group where we take kids camping and doing other outdoor stuff. So I'm looking for versatility and dependability. Well and there has to be some cool aspect to it...for the kids sake, ha ha.

Be creative.
My opinion? Neither. Just build a bumper with a small hoop in the center to protect the radiator.

I have a brush gaurd and thankfully for it. It offers more protection than a bull bar. I've hit 2 deer with it so fora ( where I live there are muley's every where ) and had I only had a bull bar both fenders, headlights would be f***ed. Plus it's a great Handel to grab on to when getting out from under the jeep

For deep in the woods i would rather have a full brush guard to protect the whole front end.If it was more a rock crawler i would think about a bull bar or pre runner style light bar on it.
