Default Building custom bumper, but how?

So i was just in an accident with my Cherokee, It ripped the bumper off and did some good damage to the front driver corner. Because of it we are just building a bumper. In the process of finishing taking off the bumper I discovered a large dome on the inside of the bumper. My dad says its a vacuum or back up vacuum of some sort. Do i need this on the new bumper, or can i leave it off? what is it for sure in the first place. It did have a vacuum hose hooked to it. Pictures will be posted soon on my profile of what happened to the jeep and the restoration process. Thanks!

Vacuum ball.

Just move it into somewhere inside the engine bay out of the way, if its not busted up...

Vacuum canister for the HVAC and cruise control. Without it all you'll get is the defrost setting. I actually mounted mine to my home brew winch bumper in the same spot it was on the factory bumper. It sits little further up in the bumper for a little more protection, but if it gets smashed I'm not worried - I have a couple extras.

Okay thanks a ton!! We don't know what we are going to do right now, the Jeep looks really sad right now, the whole front end is stripped apart.

one more question, we need to know how we should cut the plastic in the wheel wells in order for it to all look good, if that all makes sense.

I removed my plastic from inside and just sprayed the inside of the fenderwell with some undercoat from advance auto. IMO it looks good

If you trim the plastic, just mark where you need to cut it and use either a utility knife or some really good scissors to cut it. The other option is to remove the plastic and do the rubberized spray coating.

Have you ever had a truck that didn't need repairs? Should have kept the jeep...

Haha no need to worry, he is an idiot. Nah he is my friend. At least I haven't ever left my hood I unlatched while going 50-60 mph and had it flip up
