I just got my first Jeep Cherokee XJ. And at first is just wanted to use it as a “winter car” here in the cold north, for getting through the snow and so on.
Anyway, a got some small parts for it, just to improve it a bit before the winter. This weekend I wanted to install a 3rd rear brake light, but soon found out that the car a major electrical problem. So what do you do? I started looking for the bug, and soon I ended up finding rust in rear wheel arc and some other problems. So as the day dragged on, I striped the whole interior out of the car to find some more rust and I did.
Now the car is off to the welder and mechanic to fix some minor problems. And then it is going to be turned in to an off-road rig project. A project I will be having over the winter. This is something I never would have thought of in the first place, had I not started doing some work on it. And all for this started, just because of a rear brake light. LOL
I'll post some more on the project when I get it back.

This is my Jeep when I just got it:

Every time you go to fix something you will find at least 2 more things wrong with it.

Cherokee's are life sucking, soul crushing, hope smashing dream killers that will rob you of your all your free time and drain your bank account constantly fixing the things that go wrong.

If you're lucky, it will catch fire and burn to the ground while you sleep.

If you just bought it, my advice to you is sell it ASAP, get out while you can, before you've sunk your heart and soul and retirement fund into fixing it.
