Default Brake/Gas pedal pad upgrade

Considering throwing a Fab post up for making some new pads for my brake and gas pedal.

I have a Goodyear Wrangler MTR on rim that is basically shot (punctured sidewall-not repairable). I was driving this morning and that damn factory pad on my brake pedal has sprung lose from the pedal and now my foot slips all over the pedal. Looking for something interesting to do to the MJ I was considering cutting the MTR up and making a new pad for both the gas and brake pedal. They would be bolted on with a small size hardware (so you won't feel it with your feet).

I was curious if you guys would like a fab thread on how i will be doing it... I know i've seen it done before but i haven't found a thread on here for it

Cool idea, but how you gonna cut the tread to the shape you want? A steel belted tire is pretty tough to cut.

Sawzall cuts them pretty easily...
Dont know what you would use for the fine work though.

planning on a sawzall, cut-off wheel mounted on an electric grinder, Flap wheel, anything i see fit to make a proper fit... trying to find some other uses for the tire besides just pedal pads... don't wanna cut it up and have a whole lot of it laying around.

You could use some for a non slip pad on a step of some sort like your rear bumper.

You can make you some sandles out of that tread, you'll never get stuck while you're hiking.
