I don't know about the Monroes...Like I said...someone here steered me toward these...I always read the reviews folks post on amazon...not so much for the good reviews....but more for the bad ones...If people aren't happy with something....you can be pretty sure they are gonna let everyone know about it.....Didn't see any bad reviews for these..How much cheaper are the Monroes?..

That said...sorry ..I posted the wrong link...Instead of the Cherokee one I posted the Grand Cherokee...Here's the one for Cherokees...I'll go change the other one..

Mine only falls down when it's cold out, every other time it seems to stay up fine. But I still put my head down and hope for the best every time.

My liftgate has a mind of its own. It never wants to open...

I've definately been very tempted to invest in a new set of these! It's not fun trying to load things (like a set of 34x12.5x15 tires/rims) by yourself while trying to hold the hatch (which can feel pretty heavy when it hits you)..
