I have just gotten a new to me 2000 XJ & the rocket scientist PO decided to cover it in roll on bed liner---Ok it's fine on the lower trim line, BUT, on the roof, in Arizona, WTF ? so any way to safely remove this god awful mess from the roof & hood , short of grinder & wire brush ? any help will be appreciated

in short, probably not. if it's old-ish you might be able to chip some of it away. but if he was a real rocket surgeon he would've sanded down or at least scuffed the original paint. most likely you would have to grind it down, and do it without cutting/gouging into the sheet metal. not fun

but you knew what you were getting into when you got the jeep

 

for the first time in a while Im at a loss for words.... trial and error to see what works best if you're lucky he wasnt so mindful of prep on the roof and went iver the flaking clearcoat...

Not really, the lesson learned here is DO NOT buy a Cherokee after sun down.-- So that's on me, now I need to figure out how to save it, because it really looks like Chit, In fact I think the RSPO may have rolled it in the same darkness I bought it in---Yes it's that bad
