Default Blocks or add a leaf?

3" lift and squatting in the rear. Would you go with blocks or add a leaf?

Neither. New leaf packs. Or shackles.

i don't like add a leafs, they are too springy/bouncy.

if you like the way it rides, a block won't really change the spring rate, but may add a little axle wrap. however, i have a 2 inch block added to my 5.5 inch RE setup and it feels fine. no added axle wrap that i can feel.

so, if you cannot afford to swap out rear springs, i would just add a 1 to 2 inch block and go from there.

you will need longer u-bolts.

Thanks. I think that's what I'll do. Cheapest route.

If your springs are already sagging, the best avenue is to go ahead and replace the spring packs. That said, a short (up to 2") block isn't going to hurt anything at all.

Thanks. I figure the blocks will be cheap enough to give it a shot. If that doesn't work, or if I'm still with this XJ a year or two down the road, then I may just replace the leaf packs.

Can I ask you a question or two? How long has the lift been installed? Who made it?

He will be posting back soon as soon as the blocks go in and the other problems show up.

I take it your very young as its a poor idea to put-off something that affects the driving of whatever it may be. It will come back to bite you.

If it were me, I'd get some shackle relocation brackets that DO increase lift. Like the original HD Off road design or Ironman4x4's.

OR make a bastard pack with some s10/Dakota/Durango (any 2.5" leaf spring. Go experiment.)

Why blast me? I asked for advice. If the blocks were bad advice, shouldn't you be blasting them for giving me bad advice? I thought this was a good place to come for ideas from people who have had XJs much longer than I have, but I guess not. Eat your popcorn, I seek advice elsewhere from people who might actually want to help.
