Has anybody ever installed a block heater on the 4.0?

Unless you live somewhere that gets -25 or colder its really not needed.A good battery with a lot of cold cranking amps is all you will need.

i plug in at 5f or colder.

more heat quicker is better for you, and fuel economy and the oil pressure is better

Thats what i think. And it has to be better for the engine and the battery on those super cold days

buddy of mine had one on an Xj he had, i don't know if it was factory or not.

all 3 of my xjs came with factory block heaters

my miata i put one in, pop out freeze plug, pop in heater

diesel cruze has oil pan heater

X2 in place of a freeze plug.

It did come factory on some xjs I know a couple ppl with Canadian xjs factory block heaters. My friend plugs his in to be cool lol

drivers side of the block, 1st freeze plug from the front

the electrical cord is zip tied to the trans cooler hose

i have the plug hanging out the front under the plastic headlight shroud drivers side, cord laying on front bumper...so i dont have to open the hood all the time
