Default Black RTV diff. gasket ok?

So I was wondering if using oil approved ultra black RTV silicon gasket maker was ok for the differential cover. Or should I go and get a gasket from Autozone and also use RTV on it?

I used black with no leaks, when you use it make sure you let it sit for 10 minutes before you assemble.

I use black RTV on both my diffs, seals it beautifully. Let it set up a while before sliding the diff around on it and bolting up like said above.

Ultra black RTV will work fine, ultra copper is a red f-silicon and good for heat and chemical resistance, for the best I use "the right stuff", also by permatex, expensive but it really works in torturous (cold, hot, wet, chemical) applications.
