Default bill of sale and title different people

This is a pretty general question but I know I get anwsers quickly on here. Just bought another cherokee. The bill of sale was signed by the husband and the title was signed by the wife (who was the owner). Will this be accepted by the dmv or do I need to redo the bill of sale and have the wife sign it?

I would think the person on the title would need to sign the BOS.

does it have 2 names on the title?, or just the wife's name? i would think that you would need the wife to have signed the bill of sale as it is legally her vehicle to sell unless his name is on the title too. if his name is not on the title then it wouldnt be legally his to sell. idk

No it just had her name on the title. I would think it would have to be signed by her.

I'm pretty sure that as long as it's only in her name and there are no liens against it on the title you'll be fine. The DMV always checks the title to see that it's filled out with the sellers info and signature, the purchase price, and the buyers info and signature, there are no liens, and either the actual mileage is stated or the box is checked stating it exceeds the mechanical limits of the odometer. Of all the vehicles I've purchased in my life (maybe 50) I've never had to show a bill of sale.

If the wife filled out the pink slip and signed it, you should be ok and not even need the bill of sale.
