Is anyone running 235 75's in the bfg all terrains? I need a tread width measurement, actual tape measure width of the tread. I've noticed that bfg's are wider than other tires of the same size. The 225/60/15's I have on my sonoma are actually about an inch and a half wider than 235 hankook tires on the tread. I have goodyear wrangler 235s on the jeep now, and wanting bfg's but I'm trying to see if the bfg's have a wider footprint.

I have a set. Give me a bit and I'll get you a measurement. They will have a larger footprint because the wranghkers concave outward. They ride in the middle of the tread and start coming up slightly from the sidewall until the center of the tread. I have both wranglers and bfg and was doing a side by side yesterday.
When you get done with that (lol). I wanted to ask that you check out a thread I started in this section regarding my Hankooks. I would really like your opinion. Thanks.

thank you. Since I did the lift the goodyears look goofy. Like they're not wide enough. And I don't want to go to 31s just yet.

hey man sorry I took so long. Super busy today and it slipped my mind. The bfg is about 9.25 inches wide give or take. The wranglers are probably going to be about the same, but because the wranglers seem to form a slight peak, and the bfg has a more aggressive sidewall, they will look a bit wider.

After reading and comparing sizes for hours I think I've decided on a set of 30x9.50s. A little taller and wider than the 235/75s, but not tall enough to worry about re-gearing yet. I figure after I wear those out I'll regear then and try something taller.

you really can't even tell the difference between 30s and 235s. I always tell customers either stay with 235s or jump to 31s if you want to see a differrence. Imo the price difference from 235s to 30s isnt worth the negligable differrence.

If your running 15x7's with 5.25" backspace like OEM rims their a good chance of hitting the lca's at a bit less than full lock. MAYBE you can adjust the stops to limit it. My 235's would rub the left lca in off camber situations when at almost full lock.
Look like any of these?

You can measure the backspace of them. Lay a straight edge across the back of the rim and measure on the inside of the rim from where it seats against the hub up to the bottom of the straight edge.

Well I can only guess but the same rim # offered on the Comanche in that link is what was on my Cherokee. Backspace is 5.25" on mine. The lower the number the farther away the tire is from the LCA.
