Mile .Marker or Smittybilt? I know a warn would be ideal but looking to spend about 300 to 400 bucks. Any info on these two would be nice. I know that the Mile Marker has a waterproof solenoid ( I think I spelled that right )Thanks

IDK!! I know it was stated on the Mile Marker website it was but the Smittybilt site said nothing about it. I would hope so.

you mean the remote switch, or the switch on the winch drum. the switch on the drum is metal but ive heard in the past that the sticker is backwards saying the switch is in spool when it really is engaged and vise versa. idk if they fixed that yet.

For the money you can't beat'em! FYI Winch depot is owned by 4 wheel Parts... $269 is on eBay from"Truckaddons", search xrc-8 and you will find it!

 

Rugged Ridge has an 8500 lb winch for $299.00. The motor is 5.5 hp and is a series wound motor, with 94' of 5/16s diameter wire rope. Think about this one it could be a great inexpensive winch and it comes with 2 year warranty.

 

Thanks for the replies. I was checking craigslist and came across a guy that had a Mile Marker 8000 with a ****** block and tow strap only 3mnths old for 200 bucks and I went and picked it up. He still had it hooked to his reciever mount so I got to play with it before I bought it.
