Default best way to turn old trim black again. no armor all

Want to turn my faded black molding and bumper caps and fender flares black again.

Any advice?

Heard the Krylon makes some special paint that bonds to the plastic??
What about plastidip paint> Any help is appreciated

thanks

I used spray-on bedliner and it looks great, has a nice texture and fills in minor flaws in the plastic.

Surf City Garage 486 Black Max Vinyl, Rubber and Trim Dressing, 8 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JRPFKEA..._87spwbQVFAZB5

This stuff works great. Lasts for a long time too. After you treat the plastics, Every once in a while put some tire shine on a rag and wipe it back over the plastic and it will bring it right back.

I used a heat gun on mine and put some moderate heat to it and you can watch it change color as you go. Just don't get it too hot.

I wouldn't plasti dip. Some love it, have nothing against it...just doesn't last. I just scuffed mine up with sandpaper and used krylon fusion satin black spray paint on mine. Looks great! Even better it was like $3.50 at Walmart!

The flares on the XJ were done in 2008, a lot worn off, but still stickin, no flakes.

This.

It won't last forever, but it will hold up long enough... until you put new trim on.

In the end, new trim is the only answer.

Rustoleum bumper and trim paint. Even has a picture of a yellow xj on it. More durable than the fusion. Just spray it lightly or it fills the texture in the plastic.

I've done polish, shoe polish, heat, Black Magic, Back to Black, Armor All...

They're all temporary band-aids. The plastic just gets UV damaged all over again and dries-out all over again. Nothing is as easy and long-lasting as paint.

Has anyone just taken the plastic trim off? I've been thinking about it. Mines starting to get loose anyways
