Default Best way to get a new engine

So I was really just wondering what would be the best way to get a good straight 6 for my cherokee. Its at about 220k and its just slowly falling apart.
And I feel in the next year or so I will be needing a new vehicle. But I have a 1991 Cherokee Laredo and I know its not a big deal but its a light blue color which i have only seen about 5 others ever so I would really like to just replace the engine and what ever else may need to be done. any suggestions would be helpful thankyou

Craigslist, local Jeep/4x4 groups, junk yard etc. i6's are not that hard to come by or very expensive. I have more spare i6's than I know what do with.

Can't help you there. I've never done a 350 swap.

The i6 is an easy engine to work with, my first time pulling an engine was in an XJ, took me all of 4 hours to have it out, and that was while bs'ing and having a few beers.

Oh well that doesnt sound bad at all then. It just sucks the previous owners didnt take care of this truck at all. It would just be cool to actually run it. Ive change the drive shaft, which was surprising it didnt break, the starter which was fun starting my truck with a screw driver, the heater control valve exploded and almost blew my engine having it overheat and shut down, which made me change the water pump and the thermostat. And ive just figured out the new problem which started a few days ago with it not stopping -_- its been a pain but i think its worth saving.

You can find them cheaper than that once and a while. I picked up a complete 89 engine that was pulled out a wrecked XJ with only 102k for $125 delivered. Also the u pull here has 50% weekends every few months, you might want to check with your local yards to see if they do that ever.
