Best lights for the money?
I am completely lost when it comes to light kits. There are so many brands to choose from with hundreds of styles how is it possible to know whet is good and what is not. Hella, IPF, PIAA, KC highlights, Rampage. And then there is fog lights, driving lights, aux lights, "off road" lights etc... And the cost range from affordable to uber expensive. My friend has tj and he put a PIAA kit on and they are great lights but he had to remake the lighting harness because after he spent hours setting it all up correctly the second he connected it to power the harness lit up like a Christmas tree and was fried. I could really use some help to shed some light on this subject to help me wade though the sea of various light kits. All I'm looking for is a set of lights with a good throw that won't break the bank, or crap out in a year.

I've yet to buy from him but they look like a heck of a deal.

Buy a couple of the small lights and wire them up.
The LED's won't require special wiring due to their low current draw.

I've got 4 square KC lights on a CARR light bar for sale actually. Wiring them up is not hard and they have been good lights for me.
Wiring lights isnt hard. You just have to do it correctly regardless of what kind they are.

call me old fassioned but, i know that an LED maglight is 3X brighter than a regular maglight, but off road LED lights? I have been skeptical of the every since another friend of mine, not as smart as the one with the TJ, who has, as much as it pains me to say this, a "Bro Truck" put LED brake lights, turn signals, and reverse lights in his "truck" and the are week as anything. so for that reason i have been skeptical of LED products
Although that Video makes a VERY compelling argument

Ask Ernie (Cuzco25) about how bright his Rigid LED's are....

im gonna be a little different here and say that i think the RuffStuff HIDs are a decent deal. i got them on sale for $80 per light. these are huge 7" HIDs that you can choose between a spot or a flood pattern. the ballasts are built in so you dont need to worry about mounting them elsewhere like with a cheap conversion kit.
http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/7HID.html
only downside might be that they only come as lights, no switch, relay, fuse, or wiring. this was not an issue for me but may be for some
